Baghdad (NINA) - Leader in the Kurdish Alliance, MP Mahmoud Othman, demanded the politicians to sense the risks and challenges facing the country at the present time due to the continuation of the political crisis without solutions.

He told NINA "the postponement of the meeting for the formation of the Preparatory Committee of the National Conference demonstrates the depth of the differences between the political powers and the lack of will and determination to speed up holding the National Conference and find solutions."

Othman said it was possible to hold the meeting today even that President Jalal Talabani is not present, as it is a preparatory meeting that paves the way for the formation of the Preparatory Committee for the National Conference, but, there is no earnest in holding it.

Leader in the State of Law Coalition, Adnan Al Saraj, announced the postponement of the preparatory meeting of the National Conference which was scheduled to take place today, Sunday.

He said in a statement to NINA "the postponement of the meeting was due to the absence of the sponsor, President Jalal Talabani, in addition to the failure of the Preparatory Committee to reach tangible results to be the basis for programming the meeting."

The political blocs held in the middle of this month, a meeting in preparation for the National Conference attended by Presidents Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki, and Parliament Speaker Osama Al Nujeifi, and their deputies, in addition to MPs from the Iraqiya Slate, the Kurdish Alliance, and the National Alliance, as well as Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Midhat Al Mahmood, and other figures.
