BAGHDAD, Jan.20 (AKnews)- Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Hussein Shahrestani will head a delegation to Czech on behalf of the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, a spokesman for Shahrestani said.



On Sunday the delegation leaves for Czech in order to promote economic relations.



After Czech PM visited Baghdad in May, Maliki promised to visit Czech but he apologized for the visit due to political crises in his country.



Faysal Abdullah, spokesman for deputy PM Shahrestani, told AKnews that Shahrestani will lead a delegation of senior officials which includes Saadun Dalimi, acting defense minister, Ahmed Karbuli, industry minister, Ahmed Shamma, deputy for oil minister, Lubaid Abawi, deputy for foreign minister, Sami Aaraji, head of Investment Board and a group of businessmen.



The delegation will meet with Czech Prime Minister Peter Necas and a number of senior officials. Later the delegation will sign a memo of understanding in Iraq-Czech economic forum.



The two countries have signed a number of deals related to defense and security, including a deal to sell L159 fighters to Iraq.
