Judicial Council unanimously rejects the request Mahmood his retirement

BAGHDAD / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) - refused to members of the Supreme Judicial Council unanimously asked President Judge Medhat al-Mahmoud transmits it to retire.

The judge said the spokesman for the federal judiciary Abdul Sattar Bayrakdar, said that "the Supreme Judicial Council today held a special meeting to discuss the development of the judicial process and has taken a number of important decisions."

He added that "at the end of the meeting witnessed Judge Medhat al-Mahmoud request transmits it to retire and left the meeting."

He Bayrakdar that "the meeting continued under the chairmanship of Vice-President of the Council to decide on the request Mahmoud judge and vote on it."

He noted that "members of the Council issued a unanimous decision to reject the request Mahmoud judge; because the public interest and justice at this stage require to stay in his duties as President of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Supreme Federal Court."
