Iraqi Report: US Special Forces now in direct combat with ISIS in Iraq

As one of my bosses in the Army was fond of saying, "We ain't got time to do it right but we always got time to do it over."

Now four years after Obama and Hillary Clinton contrived a reason to give our troops the bum's rush from a won war in Iraq, we are back in combat there. Not just with aircraft but with ground forces:

An American force has fought its actual first battle against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria “ISIS” organization during a counter-attack that was carried out by tribal forces*and other force of the Iraqi army near Ein al-Asad base, west of Anbar, in an attempt to remove them from the base of which includes about 100 US adviser in it.

    ...

A field commander of the Iraqi Army in Anbar province, said that "the US force equipped with light and medium weapons, supported by fighter force model" F-18 ", was able to inflict casualties against fighters of ISIS organization, and forced them to retreat from the al-Dolab area, which lies 10 kilometers from Ain al-Assad base .
While this action is in accordance with the existing AUMF, it stands in opposition to the draft AUMF Obama submitted to Congress which forbids direct US ground action except in search and rescue missions and direct action missions against ISIS leadership. So I suppose Obama should actually thank Congress for not making him lie, yet again, about his actions and intentions.

The fact remains that ISIS is not vulnerable to defeat*by airpower and the ground forces arrayed against it are too weak and the leadership too inept and fractured to succeed. Ultimately, US led military forces must take to the field or we simply allow ISIS to transition into a terrorist state, much like Iran. The we could negotiate with them and give them a nuclear weapon, too.
