UN mission welcomes Abadi reforms to eliminate corruption and incompetence

UN mission welcomed on Tuesday, the reforms carried out by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to eliminate corruption and inefficiency.

According to a statement that "the Acting United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq [UNAMI] Gheorghe Posten praised the reforms proposed by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, which aimed to improve the lives of the Iraqi people and the rationalization of state institutions and root out corruption package".

Said Posten "has led corruption and incompetence to the dismay of legitimate and widespread, which could be exploited by terrorist groups to achieve their ends," noting that "the reforms that eliminate corruption and streamline the state institutions bring expertise that the government desperately needed, also contributes to improve the delivery of services to the people in strengthen national unity and accelerate reconciliation at a time when all honorable Iraqis need to unite their efforts in the fight against terrorism
