16 Iraqi security elements killed in ISIS progress in Baiji

Shafaq News / A security source revealed that 16 elements of Iraqi forces were killed in ISIS terrorist’s progress in Baiji in Salahuddin province.

The security sources said that the military forces and the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) control about 40% of Baiji oil refinery space, while ISIS subjects about 60% of the refinery area under its control.

The sources told Shafaq News, that heavy fighting took place this morning at al-Asri neighborhood in Baiji when ISIS was progressing in which a number of terrorists were killed and 16 members of PMU were killed also.

He added that the organization penetrated in Baiji refinery northern the city and was able to control al-Setmiya neighborhood.
