    Clerics in Kurdistan and Jordan discuss how to fight ISIS

    Shafaq News / The chairman of the Union of Islamic scholars in Kurdistan , Abdullah Saeed al-Kurdi said on Thursday, that he had discussed with the General Mufti of al- Hashemite

    Jordanian Kingdom , Abdulkarim Al-Khasawneh , the role of religious scholars in Kurdistan in fighting ISIS extremist ideology, terrorism and confronting all manifestations of violence and fanaticism.

    Al-Kurdi said that he concluded his visit to Jordan and said in an interview with Shafaq News, that he had met during the past two days, the General Mufti of Jordan in Amman and discussed with him issues related to fighting thought of ISIS extremist.

    He said he told the Jordanian side that Islamic scholars in Kurdistan are making effort to fight the extremist ideology, terrorism and confronting all manifestations of violence and fanaticism through the awareness lectures that address the poisonous ideas spread by ISIS terrorists , stressing the keenness of the Union on the deployment of moderate thinking , that works to renounce violence and unite the renaissance of society and the elevation of Kurdistan.

    He noted to the importance of fatwas issued in Dar Fatwa to Jordan in its authenticity and realism that serve moderate thinking and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and coexistence in the Muslim community and refutes the views of extremists and abnormal allegations.

    He also noted during his speech to the risk of violence and terrorism and its causes, the extent of the threat to the individual and society, pointing out that Islam is innocent of all what is attributed to it by the extremist ideology .

    Kurdi stressed the importance of fighting this Takfiri thought through the intensification of efforts in the Muslim world to explain and clarify the seriousness of these ideas to the youth and all members of society, recalling the role of Kurdistan scientists to correct misconceptions and continuing to address the false fatwas, which is based upon the terrorist organization.

    He also noted that the General Mufti of Jordan the importance of the role of scholars and muftis in Jordan in addressing the people of extremism and ideas and urged them to moderation and tolerance as the teachings of the Islamic religion say , stressing the need for concerted efforts and constant cooperation among the religious institutions in the Muslim world in general and between Jordan and Kurdistan region, in order to exchange views and access to scientific expertise in fighting this deviant Takfiri thought.

    Kurdi explained that the meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Jordanian Department of Fatwa ,Mohammed Ahmed al-Khalayleh, the head of Imam Abu Abdullah El-Shafei scientific Center in Jordan , Samir Mourad Shawabkeh.

    Dempsey: Washington is considering other military bases in Iraq as Anbar

    Shafaq News / The Chief of Staff of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey said on Thursday that his country is considering the establishment of other military bases

    in Iraq along the lines of Anbar to support the security forces in fighting ISIS.

    U.S. President , Barack Obama ordered on Wednesday to send up 450 additional military to Iraq and the establishment of a new training base in Anbar province to help in rebuilding the Iraqi forces preparing to fight a battle to retake areas seized by ISIS.

    Abadi announces launching a project to facilitate Iraqi’s official papers

    Shadaq News / Prime Minister ,Haider al-Abadi announced on Thursday launching a project to facilitate the official papers of people

    and cancel routine in government departments and institutions in the country.

    According to a statement issued by the Media Office of the Prime Minister received by Shafaq News, that "al-Abadi’s project called for simplification of administrative procedures in government departments, facilitate the completion of official papers of the citizens and cancel the routine by using information technology."

    The statement added, "The project started under the title (your government is under your service ).

    US official informs al- Nujaifi of opening a new base for training and arming tribes in Anbar

    Shafaq News / US Assistant Secretary of State and Deputy Envoy of the international coalition to counter ISIS, Brett Makourk stressed that his country will open a base

    in Anbar to train and equip the clans of the province.

    According to a statement issued by the Vice-President , Osama al-Nujaifi, the latter's office met Makourk on Wednesday, as they discussed the political and security situation and developments in confronting ISIS terrorist organization and the US position and its innovation.

    The statement quoted Makourk that " a new base in Habbaniyah will be set up, there are 500 elements of the special forces will move to it, and their mission is training and arming tribal members and volunteers from Anbar to fight ISIS, adding that this base will work in coordination with the Iraqi forces and the goal is the liberation of Al-Anbar and River Basin of Euphrates.

    For his part, al-Nujaifi expressed "delight" by the evolution of the US position by opening Habbaniyah base, training and arming the people of Anbar, saying that "citizens in the provinces that suffer from control of ISIS are frustrated and are looking to do live up to their enthusiasm to get rid of ISIS".

    Nujaifi said that he " training and arming of the people of the areas occupied by ISIS should be broad and big and respond to the challenge they face," adding that "the promises are no longer useless, which is not more than draining time and the bloodshed, there should be work that can make confidence and hope in the hearts of the people of the occupied territories”.

    He stressed " a quick return of displaced persons to the liberated areas since a few months ago, as any delay would send the wrong message to our people in the cities occupied by ISIS."

    Nujaifi called to "support the liberalization of Mosul camps and arming them that has the will and determination to defeat ISIS and save their city."

    He concluded by saying that " ISIS is a risk to the whole world, and responsibility requires to support efforts that fight them."

    Abadi discusses terrorism in the region and the world with the Iranian ambassador

    Shafaq News / Iraqi Prime Minister , Haider al-Abadi discussed with the Iranian ambassador to Iraq , Hassan Danaii Fer , the phenomenon of terrorism

    in the region and the world and how to address them.

    According to IRNA official website , al-Abadi met on Wednesday Danaii Fer and discussed with him ways to develop relations between the two countries in various fields.

    The agency added that the two sides discussed the security situation in the region and Iraq, and the need to continue working to address terrorism in the region and the world.

    Iran and Iraq are linked by borders that exceed one thousand kilometers as both countries exchange annually more than two million tourists, it is excepted for this number to increase in the coming years.

    Iraq increases the price of Basra Light crude shipments to Asia

    Shafaq News / The Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) said that Iraq has identified the official selling price for shipments in July for the price of Basra Light crude to Asia customers

    at an average price of Oman and Dubai crude by $ 1.60 a barrel, more than $ 0.95 for the formula price for the previous month.

    SOMO said in a statement that the price of Basra crude in heavy shipments to Asia has been identified of an average price of Oman and Dubai by 5.60 dollars per barrel.

    While the markets of North and South America, the price of Basra Light crude for July shipments remained unchanged at Argus index for high-sulfur crudes by 15 cents a barrel. SOMO increased crude prices of Kirkuk shipments in the Americas for July to the index plus of 0.75 dollars a barrel.

    Basra Light crude shipments to Europe in July, has set its price at an equivalent price of Brent $ 4.60 which is less than 15 cents from the previous month. The price of Kirkuk shipments to customers in Europe in July increased to Brent equivalent of $ 4.25.

    Regional summit on the fight against ISIS starts in Sydney, Australia

    (Iraqinews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday, a regional summit on the fight against ISIS has started in Sydney, Australia, with the participation of ministers and representatives from thirty countries, while Australian Prime Minister stressed that his country’s citizens, who are fighting alongside ISIS, had committed “treason.”

    Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott urged in his speech to the summit the Asia-Pacific countries to “join the fight against ISIS terrorists,” indicating that “it is necessary to find solutions to overcome the terrorist ideology that has attracted thousands of foreign fighters to Syria and Iraq.”

    Abbott added that his country, “seriously, considers increasing the number of Australian troops stationed in Iraq to fight against ISIS,” pointing out that, “the only really effective defense against terrorism is to convince people that it is ineffective.”

    ISIS besieges hundreds of families in Ramadi, prevents their exit from the city

    (IraqiNews.com) Anbar – A local source in Anbar province asserted on Thursday that the ISIS militants are besieging hundreds of families in the city of Ramadi and preventing their exit from the city, noting that ISIS intends to use these families as “human shields”.

    The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “ISIS has surrounded hundreds of families within the city of Ramadi,” noting that “it prevents their exit from the city.”

    The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added: “ISIS intends to use those families as human shields if the security forces stormed the city of Ramadi to regain control of it.”

    Noteworthy, Anbar province has witnessed security developments represented in ISIS control on important areas in Ramadi.

    Former US soldier returns to Iraq, volunteers to fight against ISIS

    (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Wednesday, an American newspaper reported the return of a former US soldier to Iraq to volunteer in fighting ISIS in north of Iraq.

    The newspaper “USA Today” quoted the US soldier Ryan O’Leary as saying, “I came to Iraq to fight alongside the Peshmerga in fighting ISIS,” explaining that, “Fighting is better than sitting on the couch and watching news channels where Christians and Muslims have been killed for no reason.”

    “I see dozen of veterans, mostly American and British,” pointing out that, “The Peshmerga forces use mainly foreigners as trainers and not as soldiers,” Ryan O’Leary added.
