Iraqi Prime Minister Abadi arrives in Erbil

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region- For the first time since taking office in September, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi has traveled to Erbil, capital of the Kurdistan region, for talks with President Masoud Barzani and other officials.
Barzani personally welcomed Abadi at Erbil International Airport on Monday. The delegation from Baghdad includes Khaled al-Obeidi, Iraqi defense minister, and several Iraqi military commanders.
According to the prime minister’s media office, the visit will focus on Erbil-Baghdad relations, refugee issues in the Kurdistan region, and the military campaigns to retake ISIS-held areas, including Mosul.
