    Baghdad (AIN) –The Cassation Court rejected the decision of the Independent High Electoral Commission of excluding MP, Aliya Nusayif, from running for the upcoming elections.

    A statement by the Iraqiya Hurra Coalition received by AIN cited "The Cassation Court refuted the contestation presented by the IHEC against Nusayif's nomination and decided to permit her to nominate for the elections."

    "We do appreciate the role of the judiciary in sustaining the rights and we urge the Iraqis to widely participate in the elections," he concluded.
