    Mahmoud Othman describes the language of threats against protesters wrong-style

    BAGHDAD / NINA / Independent MP, of the Kurdistan coalition, Mahmoud Othman described, " the language of threats against the protestors is wrong style, because it confuses the political process and security in the country and lead to not good results, pointing out " that the force does not solve everything , because it brings violence , and this is extremely dangerous for the country . " " .

    He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "It must be solved through direct dialogue , between the wise elders and politicians in Anbar and the government and parliament from different parties , with the participation of religious Sunni and Shiite ."

    He explained that "the style of direct dialogue and understanding between the leaders of the protest and the government and parliament is the best solution to avoid new problems in the country that we do not need," pointing out that" there is confusion on the subject of sit-ins , some of them demanding their rights , and some take advantage of this subject to his personal interests , so it should not be confused with person claiming his right , and the person who provokes problems for personal and electoral gains so as to avoid bigger problems that may occur in the future . "

    Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki called for everyone to " withdraw from the sit-in squares to let the terrorists and their organizations face tribal members and us and stand with the will of the state and the security services ."

    He said in his weekly speech, " We'll show on television who blew up in Anbar and our intelligence and our image of air to assure you the existence of organizations and leaders of Al-Qaeda in the sit-in ."

    An emergency session cannot be held unless 50 MPs request

    BAGHDAD / NINA / The rappoture of the House of Representatives , Mohammed al-Khalidi said an emergency session of Parliament to discuss the conditions in Anbar province needs 50 MPs' request.

    He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / : "The House of Representatives will not hold an emergency session to discuss the security situation in Anbar during these days because it is in continuous session and not in legislative holiday " .

    He said : "an emergency session needs an application signed by 50 MPs to the presidency of the parliament in order to determine the date of the meeting and call to the blocs to attend the meeting ."

    The head of the National Dialogue Front, Deputy Prime Minister, Saleh al-Mutlaq called to hold urgent meetings for the House of Representatives and ministers to discuss security developments in Anbar province , after receiving news that the military forces cordoned off the squares of the sit-in there .

    He warned of the risk of breaking into squares , reminding " the massacre in Hawija and what happened there ," stressing that " the blood spilled there did not dry up after, which was almost destroy the country into the abyss ."

    The Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said the sit-ins squares became headquarters for terrorists.

    He added : " the situation in Anbar is unacceptable, " calling for withdrawal from the sit-in squares .

    Kurdish MP: Kurdish delegation's visit to Baghdad is an important step to resolve the outstanding issues

    BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the coalition of Kurdish blocs, Sheriff Sulaiman said that " the visit of the Kurdish regional government delegation , headed by Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani is an important step to resolve the outstanding issues ."

    He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "The atmosphere that prevailed in the relationship between the province and the center during the last period was not encouraging to resolve the outstanding issues, because the differing visions of each party about these files ."

    He added that "the importance of this visit is it come in the right time , especially that everyone is awaiting to solve some problems for the state's general budget for next year , which is still in the Council of Ministers in order to refer them to parliament for approval as soon as possible ."

    The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani arrived in Baghdad yesterday and met with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and a number of other officials in the federal government .

    It is mentioned that an informed source announced earlier yesterday that " al-Maliki and Barzani agreed to hold a general settlement of all outstanding accounts between the central government and the Kurdistan region ."

    Meeting of Technical committees for resolving contentious issues between Baghdad and Arbil will be held after the New Year holiday

    BAGHDAD / NINA / Ali al-Moussawi, the media adviser of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said the meetings of the technical committees between the central government and the Kurdistan Regional will be held after the New Year's holidays .

    He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / : "The technical committee meetings will begin after the New Year holidays to resolve contentious issues ."

    Al-Moussawi said : "The meeting , which was held yesterday between al-Maliki and Barzani, was not agree on the final agreement on the contentious issues until holding meetings of the technical committees and resolve all matters before discussing the budget in the House of Representatives ."


    Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki met, yesterday evening in his official office, with the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan region Nechirvan Barzani and his accompanying delegation .

    Maliki's Information Office said in a press statement that: "The talks between the two sides focused on ways to solve the problems between the province and the federal government about the budget and oil revenues from the region " ..

    Fayadh: Dialogues to settle disputes between CG, KRG over oil

    Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Ali al-Fayadh, of Oil and Energy Parliamentary Committee expressed his optimism over reaching a settlement between the Central Government and the Kurdistani Regional Government concerning the disputes related to oil sector between them.

    He stated to AIN "The dialogue will be positively fruitful and will completely settle disputes."

    "The dialogues are based on article 111 and 112 which authorizes the CG to set the strategic plans in oil sector in coordination with the Provinces and Regions," he added.

    "Identifying the authorities according to the constitution will prevent future violations and end the disputes," he concluded.

    Ahrar bloc urges blocs to focus on rescuing Iraq rather than PM post

    Baghdad (AIN) –Ahrar political bloc called the key political blocs to focus on presenting plans for rescuing Iraq rather than nominating candidates for PM post.

    The head of the bloc, Bahaa al-Araji, stated to AIN "All the political blocs must reconsider their performances inside the parliament or the government to evaluate them."

    "I am sure that all the blocs did not perform as the Iraqis want so we need to focus on the reasons behind the failure to avoid it," he concluded.

    Barzani calls Baghdad to complete procedures of transforming Halabcha into province

    Erbil (AIN) –The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, called the central government to complete the procedures to transfer Halabcha district into province.

    A statement by the Kurdistan Regional Government received by AIN cited "Barzani sent a message to the Council of Minister to be acquainted with the procedures of transforming Halabcha into province."

    "In his letter, Barzani stressed the necessity to making Halabach a new province in KR," the statement concluded.

    US citizen hands over dozens of Iraqi antiquities to Iraqi Embassy to USA

    Baghdad (AIN) –The Iraqi Embassy to the United States of America received dozens of the Iraqi antiquities from a US citizen.

    A statement by the Iraqi Embassy received by AIN cited "An American citizen, Mr. L. Riqsby of Florida recently returned 45 ancient Iraqi artifacts to the Embassy of Iraq in Washington, DC. The items, consisting of stone seals and small statues, were removed from Iraq post-2003."

    "The Embassy welcomes Mr. Riqsby’s noble act of returning the items and is grateful for the opportunity to preserve the important history of these artifacts," the statement concluded.

    Finance Committee exclude the application of the project to delete the three zeroes through the next two years

    Baghdad (news) .. Parliamentary Finance Committee has ruled out the application of the project to delete the three zeroes from the currency during the next two years because it would cause confusion for the Iraqi economy and increasing inflation rates of the country 'by Ray Committee'.

    The deputy chairman of the Commission Ahmed Faizullah (of the Agency news): The implementation of the project to delete the three zeroes from the currency during the current period would cause confusion for the economy and increases the rates of inflation in the market through the issuance of currencies with multiple categories, indicating that the central bank may re-consider the project as he refrained from applying it.

    He added that the project is large and sensitive to the needs and financial and economic stability in the country, so the Iraq during the current period and even the next few non-triggering of the implementation of the project in spite of expectations to suggest that applied during the next two years.

    The CBI announced his intention not to implement the project to delete the three zeroes from the currency early next year, stressing that the deadline to apply is still iffy.

    The previous administration of the Central Bank announced that the date of implementation of the project will be the beginning of the year 2014.
