    MP confirms reaching secret deal among blocs over adopting Closed-Slate system in next elections

    Baghdad (AIN) -MP, Abdul Hussien Resan, of Ahrar bloc revealed “Reaching a secret deal among the key political blocs over adopting the Closed-Slate system in the upcoming Parlaimentary elections.

    He stated to AIN “There is a secret agreement reached to amend the elections law and adopting the closed-slate system again.”

    “This issue was rejected by Ahrar bloc and still waiting for the opinion of the religious authority over it,” he added.

    Some blocs attempt to adopt closed-slate system due to their concerns over some figures’ loss in the elections.

    New Academy for financial, banking training inaugurated in Erbil

    Erbil (AIN) –The US Mission in Iraq inaugurated the Academy for Financial and Banking Training in Erbil City.

    The US Embassy in Iraq mentioned in a statement, received by AIN on Friday “Inauguration of this academy has been done through cooperation and partnership among the USAID, German Association for International Cooperation GIZ and the German Development Organization ADG.”

    The Inauguration ceremony of the new academy was attended by the representative of the USAID, Dana Stinson, Deputy Minister of Finance in Kurdistan Regional Government, Rashid Tahir, as well as the representatives of the GIZ and the ADG.

    The statement added “The new academy will support the efforts exerted by the Iraqi Government to improve the performance and capacities of the Iraqi financial and banking sectors to develop the economy of the Iraqi private sector.”

    The USAID and its German partners present technical support for the Academy through providing international trainers and developed curriculum to guarantee applying international standards in the academy which is expected to receive more than 200 trainees in 2013.

    Allawi describes IS withdrawal from Government as “Correct decision”

    Baghdad (AIN) -The head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, described “The decision of the IS withdrawal from the Government as a correct decision.”
