Iraq received the last military base from the U.S. Army

Baghdad, December 16 / December (Rn) - The Iraqi Ministry of Defense received on Friday last military bases from the U.S. Army two weeks ago to complete a full withdrawal from the country.

Major General Mohammed al-Askari, spokesman for the ministry told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that "the Iraqi government took over the day Imam Ali air base in the province of Nasiriyah by the U.S. military."

"The base of the Imam Ali was the last military bases in the country which was occupied by U.S. forces since 2003."
The military added that "the process of receipt was at an official ceremony attended by officials in the Iraqi government and Iraqi Ministry of Defense U.S. Army."
He pointed out that "the Ministry of Defence officially received this rule to be used by the task forces X band as a base for Iraqi air forces and in training the Iraqi army logistics and military uses."
And so the Iraqi government took over all military bases occupied by U.S. military and the 505 base since since entering Iraq at the head of an international force to topple the former Iraqi regime in 2003.
