    WR Minister visits Talabani

    Baghdad (AIN) –The Minister of the Water Resources Ministry, Mohannad al-Saadi, visited the President, Jalal Talabani, at the hospital in Germany to check on his health condition.

    A statement by the WR Ministry received by AIN on Saturday cited "Saadi expressed his wishes for the quickest recovery to Talabani to return to Iraq to resume his tasks and to settle the pending issues among the political blocs."

    "Saadi visited the Iraqi Embassy to Germany where he reviewed with the Iraqi Ambassador to Germany, the services provided to the Iraqi community in Germany to help them in settling their problems and needs," the statement concluded.


    The physician, Najim al-Din Karim, who is accompanying the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in his treatment journey, assured that Talabani's health is continuously improving.

    Karim assured in a press statement on Friday "The President Talabani started to talk normally and the medical team supervising his treatment confirmed that Talabani will return to Iraq soon."

    "Talabani started to talk normally and his memory started to act normally, too," he assured.

    MP: Budget will be approved whatever differences are.

    BAGHDAD / NINA / The MP, of the citizen bloc, Abdul-Hussein Abtan confirmed that "the state budget for the current year will be approved whatever the political differences are."

    He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "Every year we pass in this troubled atmosphere related to approval the budget because each bloc has claims that the budget should include such and such."

    Abtan said: "the atmosphere is now moving to resolve the disputes relating to the budget with some of the political blocs and we hope that these disputes find their way to approve as soon as possible".

    It is scheduled that today's session of the House of Representatives will witness vote on the budget after it delayed several times because of political differences.

    Baghdad (AIN) –The parliament voted on not returning the General Budget of 2013 to the government.

    A parliamentary source stated to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) "The parliament voted on not returning the 2013 Budget to the government to redraft it after submitting a request by the Iraqiya Slate and the Kurdistani Alliance to return it to the government."

    "The Iraqi National Alliance and some other blocs rejected this request and succeeded in voting against it during the parliament session," the source concluded.

    Baghdad (AIN) –The Parliament chairmanship decided to lift its regular session of Saturday till next Monday.

    A parliamentary source stated to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) "The parliament chairmanship decided to lift the Saturday session till next Monday due to the lack of the deal over endorsing the General Budget of 2013.

    Earlier, the parliament chairmanship held an urgent meeting with the heads of the political blocs to discuss the endorsement of the 2013 General Budget during the parliament session of Saturday.

    A parliamentary source stated to AIN "The parliament chairmanship held an urgent meeting with the heads of the political blocs to discuss the endorsement of 2013 Budget after the insistence of the MPs of the Iraqi National Alliance to endorse it during this session."

    The Religious Authority called the parliament on last Friday to expedite endorsing the General Budget and rejected the sectarian and irresponsible statements.

    IS MP: Elections to be held on time

    Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Abdullah Gharb, of the Iraqiya Slate ruled out postponing the elections of the provincial councils that are supposed to be held on the 20th of April 2013.

    Speaking to All Iraq News Agency (AIN), he said " The date of hold the elections is unchangeable where it was specified by the Council o Ministers and the Independent High Electoral Commission completed all the preparations to hold the elections on the 20th of April 2013."

    "The IHEC announced on the 1st of March the start of the electoral propaganda for the political blocs participating in the elections and there is no indicator on postponing the elections," he added.

    "The elections will be held on time and will not be affected by any events where those who do not want to participate are free to do so," he concluded.

    Breaking News--- Al-Maliki arrives in Basra.

    BASRA / NINA / Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki arrived in Basra on Saturday morning 23, Feb at the head of a ministerial delegation to hold a meeting of the Governors of the center and south.

    Maliki was received by the governor of Basra, Khalaf Abdul Samad, and the head of the provincial council Jawad Al-Bazoni and a number of officials in the governorate.

    A source in the province told the reporter of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that Maliki will discuss, during the meeting, the main problems experienced by the governorates and the obstacles that face projects and ways to overcome them in addition to the opening of a number of projects in Basra.

    PUK stresses importance to treat crisis according to the Constitution, agreements, Iraq's interests

    Baghdad (NINA) – Politburo of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), asserted that the way to treat crisis is through dialogue, in accordance with the Constitution, agreements and Iraq's interests.

    A statement issued on Saturday, Feb. 23, the PUK Politburo said that in a meeting chaired by the PUK's First Deputy Secretary General, Kosert Rasoul Ali, the Politburo expressed concern over keeping the crisis unsolved and the protests increase day after day.

    It stressed the PUK's declared policies in which it expresses support to the demands that agree with the Constitution and law, and its worries that the protest be penetrated by terrorists and sides that have interest in destabilizing Iraq through deepening distrust among Iraq's components.

    The meeting discussed the situation of insecurity and political tension, as well as the problems between the Region and Baghdad, in addition to efforts aiming to calm down the situation.

    It also discussed preparations underway for the upcoming elections, expressing support to the joint Kurdish slates.

    At the end of the meeting, Kosert Rasoul expressed satisfaction over the improvement in the health of President Jalal Talabani hoping that he will able to return home soon to resume his duties.

    Khuza'e visits Talabani, affirms improvement in his health

    Baghdad (NINA) – While on his way to Geneva, to head Iraqi delegation to the 22nd session of Human Rights, Vice President, Khoda'yir al-Khuza'e, visited President Jalal Talabani, who is in a German hospital being treated from a brain SBA he suffered on last Dec. 17.

    A statement quoted Khuza'e saying that he has visited President Talabani in his hospital and found that his health is improving.

    On Friday, member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Politburo, Dr. Najmoldeen Kareem, said that President Jalal Talabani is recuperating; pointing out that he is now talking well, and that the medical team overlooking the President's health affirms that he will return home soon.

    Dr. Kareem, who is specialist neurologist, said that the medical team overlooking the treatment of President Talabani, affirmed that he is improving and is talking normally, as well as his memory is responding and working well.

    He added that the medical team says that Talabani's health is stable and is improving, he will be returning home soon to perform his duties.

    President Talabani was his with a brain SBA on last Dec. 17; he was rushed to the Medical City in Baghdad before being transferred to Germany for treatment.

    IS calls Maliki to preserve democratic process in Iraq

    Baghdad (AIN) –The Iraqiya Slate called the General Commander of the Armed Forces the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to order the security forces to protect the citizens and preserve the democratic process in Iraq.


    The spokesperson of the IS, Maysoun al-Damaluji, stated in a press statement received by AIN on Saturday "The assassination attempts against the IS and its masses since 2006 are still continue where the illegal and armed groups are trying to target the candidates and the masses of the IS with the governmental silence and disability of the security forces that will lead Iraq to uncertain end."

    "Yesterday, the candidate of the Citizen bloc, Karim Sameer was kidnapped and taken to unknown place and the residence of the candidate of Mitahidon Slate, Ibrahim al-Janabi, was targeted by an Improvised Explosive Device in addition to assassinating the candidate of the IS, Hassan al-Janabi, and two of his cousins in Babel," she added.

    "The politicized process of assassinating and targeting the other candidates is continuing," she concluded.

    Barzani returns to Erbil ending official visit to Russia

    Erbil (NINA) – President of Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barazani, returned to Erbil on Sunday, Feb. 24, at the end of an 4-day official visit to the Russian Federation.

    In his visit Barazani met with President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, in addition to other senior Russian officials.

    Zebari receives phone call from Kerry concerning his upcoming visit to the region

    Baghdad (NINA) – Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, received on Sunday, Feb. 24, a phone call from US Secretary of State, John Kerry concerning his upcoming visit to the region and keep up with Iraq.

    A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that during the call, Zebari congratulated Kerry on his new post, wishing him success in his task.
